I almost forgot one island! When we were on Santa Cruz we took a day trip to Florena. There are about 100 people who live in the town, but it has an interesting history. It was the first settled island and we visited the rock house of the first settlers in Galapagos! We also saw more giant tortoises and did some snorkeling at Champion Island. I said they named it after me..but Janna claims they named it after her..so we really don't know..haha. Oh yes--I also saw the most colorful marine Iguanas yet! It is mating season and the iguanas change colors--they are beautiful with bright reds and lime greens!
Derek is coming to visit tomorrow!!! I hope this offers enough reading for the next week because I probably won't update until he leaves! I am excited for him to visit and show him all of the amazing things I have seen. It will be nice to also have a workout buddy to keep me motivated! I can't believe it has been 3 monts since I have seen him. Here is a picture of the day I left. Derek driving me to the airport at 5 in the morning. haha
That iguana needs some sunscreen. I can't believe you would just leave him like that because you think it looks pretty!
