Derek visits the Galapagos!

The picture on the left is when Derek, Janna, Lacey, and I went to La Loberia to look for sea anemones and barnacles on the rocks. Picture on the right is Derek laying on the beach with Steve the sea lion!
I am now getting back into the swing of things after Derek's visit here. It went by so fast!! He had a really good trip here and it was a nice vacation for both of us! We went snorkeling to kicker rock, isla lobos, and manglacito. Janna gave me an underwater camera for my birthday present, so we took 27 pictures snorkeling that will be exciting to get back! We saw sea turtles, rays, sharks, and a whole bunch of fish! Other highlights included sea kayaking, running together, and spending time at the beach where we layed out, swam, and played frisbee. Derek really liked all of the fresh, natural food we have here! I think he ate a batido (milk-shake ish thing with fruit) everyday and most nights we ate fresh mangos for dessert. We even found a juicer and made freshly squeezed orange juice which was delicious!

Derek hung out with his giant tortoise friend, Gus.
I was more tan than Derek when he got here. But notice how dark he is the day before he left!! Only 10 days and he surpasses my tan that I have been working on for 3 months!
