Happy Thanksgiving! (a little late)

Although we still had to go to class, we celebrated Thanksgiving American-style in the Galapagos on Saturday. I realized that I have been used to eating small portions of South American food--definitely not your typical Thanksgiving meal. We had green bean casserole, chicken, mashed potatos, gravy, stuffing, and rolls! YUM! Dessert was pumpkin pie, apple crisp, and chocolate "mud" dessert. I think my body hated me the next day! In light of Thanksgiving, here are some things I am thankful for:

-listening to the ocean as a fall asleep every night
-Derek visiting me in the Galapagos
-beautiful sunsets
-Skype and letters and e-mails I get from family and friends back home
-going to school across from the beach
-living with a generous host family that only speaks Spanish
-the SUN and warm weather in December!
-running outside in cut offs and shorts everyday
-Marine Iguanas--they are my favorite :)
-fresh fruit like papaya, bananas, mangos, oranges, and tangerines
-Snorkeling!!
-meeting new friends and being able to spend another semester with Lace
-My WHOLE study abroad experience--living in the Galapagos and Quito, visiting the rainforest and climbing Ecuadorian mountains!!

I will officially be home in 3 weeks! I am going to miss this place SOOOO much :(
Derek and I at Thanksgiving--lots of food!!
